Confirm brand terms and protect your brand
Advisionr suggests brand terms per account based on your domain and account name. After you confirm them, the platform uses them to protect your brand traffic.
- Why confirmed brand terms are needed
- How Performance Max can absorb your brand traffic
- Which words Advisionr deliberately ignores
Why this matters
Searches for your own brand name are usually cheap and convert well. If Performance Max or a generic campaign takes over that traffic, those campaigns look better than they are and you often pay more.
That is why Advisionr works with a list of brand terms you confirm. Until you do, a notice is shown in the fixed bar.
What Advisionr uses brand terms for
The confirmed terms are used to recognise brand searches, to protect your brand campaign and to exclude your own brand in Performance Max. That exclusion is only proposed in the Action Center when you have your own brand campaign that covers brand traffic well.
Words that do not count
Very short words, common words and brands you sell yourself are not used. They are listed below the text box so you can see why.
Step by step
Follow this order to avoid drawing conclusions from incomplete data or mixing several changes at the same time.
- Open Settings, Business context and go to Brand terms.
- Check the prefilled words and add any that are missing.
- Tick "Correct" and save.
How to get the best result
Advisionr performs best when data, goals and responsibilities are clear. Use this working method to improve the quality of analyses and decisions.
- Include common spellings, for example with and without a space.
- Check the list again after a name change or new domain.
- Keep a separate brand campaign active with enough budget.
Common mistakes
- Adding supplier brands that you sell yourself.
- Not confirming the list, so brand protection does not become active.
Frequently asked questions
Does Advisionr exclude my brand everywhere?
No. Only in Performance Max and only as a proposal, when your own brand campaign catches the brand traffic.
Can I undo the exclusion?
Yes, in the Action Center with one click.
